growth spurt

this little man is FREAKING me out, how fast he is growing and changing. He is picking up speed in his walker, going exactly where he wants to...he's getting his knees under him and will make tiny scooches forward, and this morning he started experimenting with returning daddy's "bye bye!" wave. It is so much fun, but it's sad too!! I love my little guy so incredibly much.

jack is only mildly interested in max...but is coming around a little more often when she sees him playing with toys. I think she hopes she can get in on the playtime. It'll be hilarious someday soon when Jack can't escape him as quickly.

My buddy, Heather, shared her groupon with us to the Seattle Aquarium this past week. I wouldn't normally pay for an outing like this, as it's almost entirely lost on Max...but it was really great to do! Seattle schools were on break this week, so the place was PACKED with kids, and my little dude was squealing in excitement for the first twenty minutes or so. Then the novelty wore off, and a glazed expression settled on his face, haha. Thats what the upper right picture up there is showing : )

trying to take advantage of any & all dry moments we get by getting out with friends, or going to the park. I've got such sweet friends around to love on my kid whenever they get the chance! It's cute to see max light up in recognition for people. Mostly for Jon when he gets home from work though...that melts me every time!

and speaking of Jon, I think him & I may watch too much Top Chef. We've been going through all the seasons from the beginning...and suddenly Jon is coming home from work with a pan he picked up for me that I "absolutely cannot cook without" (his words). So we've been making new things that we've never tried, and have really enjoyed cooking together after Max goes to bed. We made some ahi tuna tostadas this evening, and we were getting so excited "plating" them. Before I knew it the camera was out, and we were judging it like he was Tom Colicchio and I was Padma. Haha.

I'm gonna put this out there, and elaborate more on it later as things come together, but it's looking like we will be spending the months of May & June living in Portland as he works at a client down there. I'm excited!

Max has a peds appointment tomorrow, to try to get to the bottom of why he's has a cold for three weeks. Poor honey. He can spot that nose bulb from a mile away, and he is so over it! Hope everything is okay with that!
