we are 40 days out from my due date, and nope. we do not yet have any idea where we're going to live when our lease is up on july 31st (six days before my due date)! We've made the decision to move from Seattle to Enumclaw, to be closer to Jon's family, but making that decision is proving to be easier than actually finding a place to rent. There is just NOTHING available! We have the sweetest army of friends & family regularly patrolling the neighborhoods for "for rent" signs, and everyone is keeping their ears to the ground for tips, but nothing has come up quite yet.
It could be denial that is keeping me so calm, but I just don't think so. Sure, I'm not able to set up a baby room yet, like is typically expected to be happening right about now in a pregnancy. We dont have a single box packed, except for everything of baby's that is STILL in its original packaging....and yeah...we're coming down to crunch time! But what more can we do but pray and wait? I just have this overarching sense that things will work out, and if we have to hunker down with family for a bit (SO THANKFUL that we even have that option!!) until a place comes along, then we will do that! But a baby isn't going to know the difference if he's got a bedroom or not yet, and we truly have all of our basic needs and way more met. I'm not worried : )
In fact, I'm just so stinking excited to meet our little guy, he can get here whenever the heck he wants to!! (well, a little more baking might do his tiny body good, but really...the timing is up to him!)
June has been a fun month! I got to see some old friends from Chicago who were out to visit Amy...De Lublink & the Binders (my surrogate family after college), and that was really sweet to have them see me in pregnant glory. Amy graduated from her nurse practitioner program, which is a really great accomplishment!
Jon had been up to quite a bit of travel back and forth from Portland for a really big work opportunity. It was difficult at times not having him around very much, but I packed in a lot of time with friends I don't normally get a lot of time with, and hung out in Enumclaw with Kristen & Owen whenever I could. I have so many people in my life that I'm thankful for.
I did take the train down to Portland a couple weekends ago to visit Jon, and that was really fun. We drove out to Cannon beach one afternoon...it is so pretty!!

and now jon is home for good! (ha, well the nature of his business means that that will never be true), but I cannot believe we have no more trips on the calendar. It's so wonderful having him home (currently napping on the adjacent couch...I must be dreaming. On a monday, no less!), and working from home this week...my heart is so happy.
Last night we met up with some buddies for a little sailing adventure. A friend of Jon's is in the yachting club at the UW, and asked if we wanted to do an evening sail, so we did that and had a picnic dinner out on the dock. It was comical how the wind completely disappeared once we were in the middle of Lake Washington, but we had good company & a guitar....definitely a winning combination.

and a shot that kinda just oozes "anticipation." I'm back into knitting gear, got one hat done, another one started...and I'm just dying to see little man in all of the sweet clothes we have for him :)
