day nineteen: summertime

this challenge is kind of funny how the days are so set, but the conditions are completely out of our control. The day I needed a cloud, I couldn't find a single one...the day I needed a sun flare, the sun was hiding all day behind clouds... and today's challenge brought a very dreary day to Portland. But thanks to adobe lightroom, I have the ability to change the color of the day from a little drab to a little more sunshiney.

I've been down in portland this weekend, visiting Jon while he has to work down here to meet a deadline this next week. It's been nice to relax and meander (slowwwly) around the city, and then meet up with him for dinner and hanging out in the evenings. Last night we caught a movie & frozen yogurt, and today we paid an impromptu visit to Cannon Beach on the oregon coast. I had never been before, and I'm really hoping to get back here again someday with the White clan when the kiddos can play on the beach all day. I think it'd be so much fun!

anyway, I'm taking the train back up to seattle tomorrow...back to apartment hunting, baby preparations, baby showers (fun!!), and soaking up the last 6.5 weeks of sleeping in and a quiet home :)
