insomnia!

I cannot for the life of me fall asleep tonight. Grrr. Busy day at work tomorrow too, but que sera sera.

I thought I'd sneak on here and show you guys a little bit of what's consuming my life as of late. Hats!! Cute little baby hats (which are incidentally fueling my baby lust...OHNO!)! I was putting up pictures here & there on facebook of my hobby, when an old friend from back home sort of approached me about selling my hats in her sis-in-laws boutique in Green Bay, Wisconsin. gasp!

We have yet to really get in touch, and talk logistics, but it dawned on me that I've got start making some inventory while simultaneously taking good pictures of some of the hats I've made. I've got two hats I'm currently making for a friend in NYC for her baby, Luka, so as soon as those are done, I'll post them too. My buddy, Sayaka, is excited to be my partner in knitting crime, so that if/when orders begin to roll in, we can both be knitting to meet the demand. Ha....now let's just wait and see if there's any demand out there.

In other news, my best friend Amy just got engaged on the 26th of march! So flippin' exciting...the crazy part is that she & nelson have set their date for June 15th, which is in....approximately 10.5 weeks. Maybe my insomnia has a little bit to do with thinking about all of my roles as bestie to the bride? I just drafted some invitations tonight for the shower out here, and I'm super excited to be throwing that with my friend, Rachel.

I have a lot of stuff coming up on my calendar, actually. I may have mentioned that I'll be starting to take Chinese classes, and that begins in 11 days (Amy will be taking that with me also...on top of her full-time school load + wedding planning. poor girl!) A lot of fun work functions, MLS soccer has recommenced...

Oh yeah, I should mention that Jon & I are not going to Italy in May like we had originally hoped. Dont be sad for me! We've already managed to fill those two weeks to the brim with LOTS of good things! Like: another trip to chicago (jon has two days of training, so I'll get to run around the city!!), then a whirlwind trip up to Wisconsin to get in some family loving, fly back to seattle to do some laundry, then head on out the next day for a Jon&Kara roadtrip to Lake Tahoe! Wahoo!! Jon and i desperately need a vacation. Aside from family trips back home, we havent truly taken one since our honeymoon.

Jon finally got a bicycle!

He sweetly gave me a bike last year for my birthday, but it's lonesome riding around without my hubs. So he finally bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago, and we were able to capitalize on one warm evening so far for a ride on the BurkeGilman Trail along the river...rode to Trader Joes, bought some stuff for dinner, strapped it to my bike rack, and rode on home. So much fun! I think this will change how we spend our summer nights, and I'm so excited about it.
